Concussion Recovery Support in Kelowna

The injury is only part of the picture. Your health history, medications, sleep, nutrition, and day-to-day life can all matter in recovery. I offer individualized naturopathic care to help make sense of those connections and build a practical plan alongside your existing care team.

A concussion happens in your brain. Recovery is shaped by the whole person.

Now What?

You’ve had a concussion

Most people recover from a concussion within a few days or weeks. For some, symptoms last longer. If you’re still dealing with symptoms months later, you’re not the only one.

Why recovery can look so different

It doesn’t seem fair. Your co-worker had a concussion and was back skiing three months later, while you’re still struggling. But you and your co-worker didn’t start from the same place.

Concussion recovery can be influenced, not just by your injury but by:

  • Health conditions you had before the injury such as depression, insomnia or migraine.

  • Metabolic health, including blood sugar and blood pressure

  • Nutritional status, such as vitamin D levels

  • Sleep and Activity

  • General factors in your life that influence your recovery (like work and caregiving responsibilities)

My approach is to look at your health in context, identify factors we may be able to address, and build a plan around you. If you’d like to hear what that could look like, you can book a complimentary concussion strategy session.

If we haven’t met…

Hi 👋 I’m Dr. Katie

I’m a naturopathic doctor and the founder of Tranquil Minds. My work focuses on where mental and physical health overlap, including anxiety, neurodivergence, migraine, concussion recovery, sleep, hormones, and nervous-system regulation.

I believe care should be evidence-informed, practical, and designed around your actual life. You should understand why I’m making each recommendation, and your plan shouldn’t become another source of overwhelm. At Concussion Care Kelowna, I work as part of a multidisciplinary team supporting people recovering from concussion.

What does care look like?

Your first appointment is a chance to look at the whole picture: the symptoms you’re experiencing now, your health before the concussion, and what else is happening in your life. When useful, I may also use lab work or standardized questionnaires to better understand your concerns and track changes over time.

Across the first two appointments, we’ll work together to build an evidence-informed care plan around your goals and priorities. We’ll adjust it as we go, with a focus on the parts of your health and life we can work on, alongside your other concussion care.

Ask your questions

During the 15-minute conversation, Dr. Katie can explain how care works, what an initial appointment includes, appointment options and fees.

What comes next

If it feels like a fit, you can book an initial appointment. If it does not, there is no obligation to continue.

What the strategy session is… and what it is not

The strategy session is a brief conversation for people considering care with me. You can ask about my approach, appointment options, fees, and whether your goals appear to fit within my scope.

It isn’t a medical appointment and doesn’t include assessment, diagnosis, individualized medical advice, or treatment.

If you decide to continue

The initial naturopathic appointment is $295 and includes a detailed health history, assessment of your goals and concerns, and the beginning of an individualized care plan.

  • In-person care: Available in Kelowna, British Columbia

  • Extended health benefits: Naturopathic appointments may be covered by some plans. Coverage varies, so please check directly with your insurer.

You do not have to book an initial appointment during the strategy session.
